The St Michael and All Angels Ringing Team (SMAART)

is a group of hand bell ringers. All age

can play and the only requirement is an

ability to count to six, which most of us

manage most of the time! We use both

hand bells and Belleplates - a cheaper,

lighter version with a sharper sound.  We now practice at Willowmere Extra Care Development premises in Middlewich on Monday evenings at 7 pm.

Our repertoire is slowly increasing in range. It includes hymns, carols, folk and popular songs and tunes. We also give occasional public performances. Anyone is welcome to come and have a go. Over Christmas we were busy at the Christingle Service and the Candlelit Carol Service. We have also entertained the members of Salinae, the Age Concern club at St. Marys and  have recently played for the residents of Willowmere Extra Care Development, Middlewich Over 60s,  Middlewich Heritage Society and Darnhall WI.  We recently did a workshop for 2nd Cledford Brownies following their visit to the church last year when they "had a go"!

Meetings are throughout the year except for August, so contact Pam Jackson on 01606 832118 or email Sue Hawkes at sehawkes@aol.com for dates.

Towerbell Ringers

Middlewich is rightly proud of its magnificent 8 bells that have rung out every week for years. We are now desperately short of ringers. Maybe you have been trained and given up or would like to be trained.

Call our Tower Captain Ian Taylor on 01606 834095 who would be delighted to talk to the experienced or inexperienced.
